Zai is one of the root words for olive in ancient languages. For thousands of years, it has been the branch that humanity has stretched out for peace, the dream for the future. The most special pearl of Ayvalık and the cornerstone of Mediterranean cuisine.

When our hearts moved away from the crowds of Istanbul and met with the stone walls of Küçükköy, the unique and refined neighborhood of Ayvalık, the first thing we did was to look for a name for our dream. Then we turned to the sea, the soil, the wind. We wanted to crown the gift of the North Aegean with its own name. We extended a brand new olive branch to Küçükköy.

At Zai Ayvalık, we bring together chef flavors with the concept of breakfast in the morning and tavern in the evening among the authentic streets of Küçükköy. We hope to seal your holiday memories with unforgettable tastes and smells with the dishes we have filtered from the Bosnian culture of our village, the rich nature of Ayvalık and our years of experience in Istanbul.
